Actor Christian Oliver and His Two Young Daughters Pass Away in Plane Crash



Tragedy struck as a plane crash claimed the lives of actor Christian Oliver and his two young daughters, along with another individual. The incident unfolded in the Caribbean, off the island of Bequia, where the small single-engine aircraft crashed.


The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force released a statement on Thursday, revealing that the plane was en route from J.F. Mitchell Airport in Paget Farm to St. Lucia. Shortly after takeoff, the aircraft encountered difficulties, leading to its tragic descent into the ocean.


Local authorities reported that fishermen and divers from Paget Farm rushed to the crash site in their boats to provide assistance. The SVG Coast Guard was promptly alerted and joined the rescue efforts at Paget Farm, Bequia.

The individuals aboard the ill-fated aircraft were identified as Christian Klepser, 51, along with his two daughters, Madita, 10, and Annik, 12. The pilot, Robert Sachs, who owned the plane, was also among the victims.


Following the tragic crash, the SVG Coast Guard conducted recovery operations, retrieving the bodies of the pilot and passengers from both the aircraft and the surrounding waters. Despite these efforts, all victims were sadly pronounced dead.



Christian Klepser, also known as actor Christian Oliver, tragically lost his life along with his two daughters, Madita, 10, and Annik, 12, in the plane crash. Klepser had notable credits in films such as The Baby-Sitters Club, The Good German, Speed Racer, and Valkyrie, according to reports from NBC News, Deadline, and local outlet the St. Vincent Times.

On January 1, Oliver shared a post on Instagram featuring a beach photo with the caption: "Greetings from somewhere in paradise! To community and love …2024 here we come!


Actress Bai Ling shared a heartfelt tribute to the late actor Christian Oliver on Instagram, expressing deep sorrow upon learning about the tragic plane crash that claimed Oliver's life and the lives of his two daughters and the pilot. Ling revealed that she had been informed of the devastating news by a mutual friend.

In her post on Friday, alongside a photo of herself with Oliver, Ling wrote, "Dear Christian Oliver @christianoliverofficial with tears in my eyes I cannot express the sorrow I felt when our direct Nick called me not long ago, that the plane he took had crashed, including his beautiful 2 daughters and the pilot had all passed! In the Caribbean‘s. He was having holidays."

Ling went on to share disbelief at the heartbreaking reality, noting that she and Oliver had worked together on a film in Hollywood just before Christmas on December 20th, 2023.


The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) provided additional details in its statement, mentioning that the bodies of the victims have been transported to a mortuary. Post-mortem examinations will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Local residents, as reported by the St. Vincent Times, recounted hearing a sputtering sound from the plane during takeoff. Danroy Joseph, a resident, described the sound as resembling a vehicle struggling or stalling, as if it were exerting effort to climb a hill.]


The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) emphasized in their Thursday statement that the investigation into the incident is still ongoing. They extended condolences to all those negatively impacted by this tragic event.

As of Friday, representatives listed for Christian Oliver have not responded to PEOPLE's request for comment.
